Manufacturing creates 2 types of transactions

Usage

For each component stock item used in the manufacture a usage transaction is posted. The usage quantity is increased by the quantity used and the closing stock is decreased. Usages have no effect on sales, cost of sales or gross margins.

Manufacture

For each stock item manufactured a manufacture transaction is posted. The manufactured quantity and closing stock are increased by the quantity manufactured. Manufactures have no effect on sales, cost of sales or gross margins. If you operate with subassemblies which are manufactured both a manufacture and a usage will be posted to the subassembly.

Hint: If you have a finished item to disassemble into components, you can enter a negative manufacture quantity.
