Component Mode

  • None - Components not in use.
  • Manufacture - for Diminishing products only, product can be Manufactured from components.
  • Automatic Kitset - for Non-Diminishing products only. When product is selected on a Sales Order or Invoice the Components are expanded. It is the components which are sold at their sell prices.
  • Manual Kitset - for Non-Diminishing products only. When product is selected on a Sales Order or Invoice components are expanded as Usages. It is the Kitset product which is sold at the kitset selling price.
You can select whether to show or hide Usages (i.e. components) for Manual Kitsets on invoices. Set the default for Hide Usages by Default in Users, Groups and Roles - Preferences tab.

Note: Kitsets are not available for selection in Job Costing.

Non Diminishing

Clear, stock quantities increase and decrease as Sales, Receipts and Credits are processed. In the context of Components product may be a Manufacture.

Selected, sales figures are recorded, but no stock quantities are maintained. In the context of Components product may be a Kitset.

Indicates the current state for the Product and may be changed from Product maintenance.

Automatic Subcomponent

Sub-assemblies included as components of Manufactured (diminishing) products are other diminishing products with components.

When a subassembly is required for a Manufacture transaction, and there is insufficient stock of the subassembly, the Automatic / Manual selection determines how the insufficiency is handled.

If Automatic, then if there is sufficient stock of the components to make up the subassembly, then it will automatically be manufactured and used to make up the shortfall.

If Manual, then insufficiency is reported regardless of availability of the components on the subassembly.

Note automatic sub component behaviour does not apply for Manufacture Batches, sub-assemblies must be manufactured separately as required.

Serial No

Prefix - Optional text to include at the start of generated serial numbers.

Counter - Incrementing number to generate next serial number from. Updated when a Manufacture batch is posted.

Suffix - Optional text to include at the end of generated serial numbers.
