Generated Outward Tracking

If Generate Outward Tracking is selected in IC Settings then for outwards stock movements, excluding adjustments, tracking lines are generated to direct picking.

Bin Tracked Locations Saturn only.

If Generate Outward Tracking is selected in IC Settings Tracking is generated for all diminishing products. The Generate From Bin With ... Quantity Available setting controls whether bins with the Smallest quantity within a Bin Priority are selected (this is the default) with the aim being to minimise the number of bins a product is in, or bins with the Greatest quantity within a Bin Priority are selected.

Bins considered for Generated Tracking are those with Generate From Selected in IC Bins, Unselect to exclude a Bin from consideration.

Bin Priority 1 is the highest priority through to Bin Priority 9 as the lowest.

Note: The Unspecified 0000 bin has an implicit lowest priority of 10. The expectation is this will not be used as a physical bin, it is a place holder for a bin not assigned yet.

Lot Tracked Products

Tracking is generated for all lot tracked products, the aim of generated tracking is direct picking to the oldest and smallest valid lot(s).

Generation takes into consideration expiry dates, minimum expiry requirements, and supply single lot for the product where those apply.

Specifying a Lot No in the document or batch line constrains the generated tracking to the Lot No specified.

Serial Tracked Products

A Tracking line per item is generated, valid serial numbers must be selected or entered before posting. If a serial tracked product is also lot tracked, lot selection will occur with lines expanded for unique serial numbers.

Specifying a Serial No in the document or batch line (only allowed if the line quantity is 1) constrains the generated tracking to the Serial No specified.

Generating Tracking

Tracking generation is triggered on change of Product Code, Quantity, Supply Date, Location, or selecting Refresh Tracking on the Tracking panel. (Locations Saturn only.)

Tracking lines have a Fixed Lot property so the system can tell if a tracking line has been generated (Fixed Lot is not selected) or selected by the user (Fixed Lot is selected).

Generating Outwards Tracking collects available quantities for the Product and Location (Saturn only).

A tracking date is calculated for sorting the available quantities:

• the Expiry Date if the product is expiry tracked.
• the Lot Date if the product is Lot tracked but not expiry tracked.
• the Supply Date (i.e. document or transaction date) if bin tracked location and product is not lot tracked. (Saturn only.)
• If Unspecified then Maximum Date Unspecified will always sort last.

The collected available quantities are then sorted by Tracking Date and Available Quantity for non Bin Tracked Locations or by Tracking Date, Bin Priority and Available Quantity for Bin Tracked Locations (Locations Saturn only).

Expired lots, Lots which do not pass Minimum Expiry relative to the supply date, and Lots which do not pass a Supply Whole Lot requirement are excluded.

Availability decisions are made on the resulting set of available quantities, and tracking is generated in the sorted order to the quantity specified and available.
