IC Component - Parts tab

Setup and maintain the component parts for Manufactured and Kitset products.

Grid Fields

Type

The Component Type select Variable, Fixed or Narrative.

Variable

Enter product code and quantity. Quantity of the component used for a Manufacture or Kitset is extended by the quantity Manufactured or Supplied.

Fixed

Enter product code and quantity. Quantity of the used for a Manufacture is not extended by Quantity Manufactured. For example used where there is a fixed cost for setup regardless of number manufactured.

Fixed components are only available for Manufacture Batches and are not included in Manufacture Transactions or Kitsets.

Narrative

Enter extended lines of text. Click Narrative Narrative (F2) in the Description field of a narrative line to open the Narrative Editor, then type a narrative or choose a global narrative.

Narrative components are not included in Manufacture Transactions.

Narrative components expand as Sticky Narrative lines for Kitsets in OE Sales Orders in order to retain the connection to the kitset.

 

Part Code

Select the products to be used.

Description

Defaults to the description of the selected product (can be overwritten). Up to 60 characters are available on the selected line. For Narrative lines, for more characters, click Narrative Narrative (F2) to open the Narrative Editor.

UOM Code

(UOM Active Only)

The UOM Code from the Product. If the Product has more than one UOM Code, you can select the code to use.

Quantity / UOM Quantity

Enter the quantity required for each Variable or Fixed part.

Note: If quantity is not entered the part will be not be included in Manufacture Transactions or Manual Kitsets if Supply Whole Manual Kitsets is selected.

Unit

Will default from the part.

Sub

This will be selected if the component product has parts of its own. Indicates that the product is a subassembly.

Grid Toolbar

ToolbarExpand

Expand Toolbar (Ctrl+F9)

Expand the toolbar to give access to all toolbar options. Press Esc to close the expanded toolbar.

Insert (F4)

Insert a row in the grid for a new part to be added.

Move (Shift+Up) (Shift+Down)

Select a line and move it up or down the list.

Delete (F3)

Remove a part from the recipe.

Open (F12)

Opens the component in IC Component, if the component has its own components.

Sort list (Ctrl+F2)

Select the sort criteria in Sort - Part.

Customise (Alt+F5)

Opens Customise Fields, you can customise the fields visible in the grid.

Copy components from (Ctrl+I)

Allows you to copy components from another Product. You will be prompted for the Product Code to copy from.

Delete All (Ctrl+F3)

Remove all components shown in the Component grid.

RecordConfirmDelete

Prompt for Delete Line On/ Off (Shift+F3)

Toggle on and off to specify whether to confirm deletes. The default state is set in Users, Groups and Roles - Preferences tab.

 

Customise Toolbar

ToolbarExpand Customise Toolbar or right-click in the toolbar below the buttons to access the Customise Toolbar Menu.
