IC Product - Tracking

Navigator > Maintain > Inventory Control > Products > Products tab >Tracking

Set tracking options for diminishing products which are Lot tracked (also know as Batch tracked or Expiration tracked) and/or Serial tracked.

Access to these fields requires IC > Products > Tracking permission in addition to the IC Product permission.


Lot Tracking
Lot Nos	Selected, product is lot tracked. Clear, (default), product is not lot tracked. Valid characters for Lot numbers are 0 to 9 and A to Z. To allow other characters see Lot No Special Characters in IC Settings - General tab.
Lot No Length	(Optional) If set Lot Nos will be required to be this length when entered.
Supply Single Lot	Selected, when determining Lots to supply only Lots which fulfill the entire quantity will be considered, e.g. when a single dye lot is required for colour matching. Clear, more than one lot may be selected to supply.
Expiry Date	Selected, product is Expiry date tracked. Expiry dates are required on receipt and evaluated on supply. Clear, (default), product is not expiry date tracked.
Minimum Expiry Minimum Expiry Unit	If Expiry Date Tracked, specify the minimum number of days, weeks, months or years prior to expiry required when determining product to supply. The date the minimum expiry period is tested against is : Date Supplied if specified in IN Line or OE Line. Falling back to Delivery Date if specified in IN Header or OE Header. Falling back to Document Date or Transaction Date.
Generate Lot Nos	None, (default), Lot No must be entered. Expiry Date, Lot No is generated from Expiry Date in YYYYMMDD format. Lot Date, Lot No is generated from Lot Date in YYYYMMDD format.
Serial Tracking
Serial Nos	None, (default), product is not serial tracked. Sale, product is serial tracked at point of sale, usage or return but not while in stock. Purchase, product is serial tracked for all transactions. Valid characters for Serial numbers are 0 to 9 and A to Z. To allow other characters see Serial No Special Characters in IC Settings - General tab. Note: Serial tracked products must have all quantities in whole numbers, and Serial No is entered for each unit.
Serial No Length	(Optional) If set Serial Nos will be required to be this length when entered.
Tracking History
Retain Tracking years	Number of years of tracking history to retain for the product. Tracking for lots or serial numbers is pruned automatically during IC End of Period as it falls outside the years to retain.

Turning on Tracking for Products with Quantities

Negative stock is not allowed for tracked products.

Tracking fields may selected or cleared subject to user permissions. When selected any current quantities in stock must be positive, and for Serial Nos must be whole numbers, quantities are considered as initially an Unspecified Lot No and Unspecified Serial Nos. Product tracking cannot be turned on while the product is on a Dispatched but not Receipted Stock Transfer. (Saturn Only)

Perform a Detailed Stocktake per location for the product to enter required Lot No or Serial No breakdown.

When tracking options are cleared (or reduced) all related tracking information including tracking history is removed.
