Server Migration

When moving Accredo to a new server, perform the following steps:

  1. Check the network considerations, to ensure the new server is suitable.
  2. Backup the existing server.
  3. Copy the Accredo folder from the existing server and paste onto the new server.
  4. Do a server install into the Accredo folder on the new server. This is very important as it writes data safety changes to the registry. See Install Accredo Server.

Note: For Remote Desktop Hosts, do not used mapped drive letters. Using a mapped drive letter will go through the network redirector which causes intermittent problems. You can use Subst instead of a mapped drive letter to get the same effect and this will bypass the network redirector.

  5. Reboot the new server. This is essential for the registry changes to take effect.
  6. If the new server is a Remote Desktop Host, install a client. See Install Accredo Client.
  7. If the new server has the same name as the previous server, all workstations will automatically point to the new server. If the server name is different, you will need to go to Accredo > File > Select System to select the new server on each workstation.
