Accredo customer, Think Water New Plymouth, has won the 2017 Think Water Franchise of the Year award and co-owner Angela Bevan says the time-saving functions in Accredo’s accounting software have helped keep the business in winning shape.

“We came second runner up in the awards last year. We are stoked to have won this time round and Accredo has been a vital part of our business progression.”

The Think Water franchise began operating in Australia in 2007 where it has 33 stores around the country and expanded across the Tasman in 2010. In New Zealand, it operates a group of 14 irrigation and pumping businesses who specialise in the design, supply, installation and maintenance of water projects including irrigation for agriculture, horticulture, dairy, industry, commercial and residential markets.

Think Water New Plymouth shifted from MYOB to Accredo five years ago when it moved to new premises and realised it needed a business management platform that could accommodate greater growth.

“Accredo was recommended to us by Staples Rodway, our accountants. Their computer services specialist, Bryce Gordon, demonstrated it to us and since then we haven’t looked back. It has been an awesome system to use.”

Angela co-owns the business with her husband Steve, and she says they have a lot of freedom to run the business the way they want to.

“We specialise in anything to do with water around the dairy farm, particularly milking shed fit outs, as well as effluent disposal. Think Water is a great network to be part of because it gives us access to vital market knowledge and expertise, and helps us with key business support across HR, administration and marketing.”

Angela says Accredo not only reduces manual labour thanks to its automated functionality, but has also saved the business real money. “We used to lose thousands of dollars in parts, which come stock-take time were no longer in our inventory and hadn’t been charged out to a customer. Now that we use Accredo’s bar coding scanner we can keep a much more accurate track on stock movement.”

Winning the award is a testimony to the hard work Angela and Steve have put into their business. “We pride ourselves on being able to provide local knowledge and expertise in farming irrigation. The franchise is very supportive and has allowed us to successfully grow our vision for the business.”
