New version of Accredo available with 64-bit and 32-bit clients

Aug 07, 2013

The latest version of Accredo, currently in beta, will be available with both 64-bit and 32-bit clients. The general release version will be shipping shortly and customers wishing to upgrade should contact their QSPs.

Several sites are already running the beta version and Accredo General Manager Tish Brindle says Version 3.6 has been designed to provide customers with as much flexibility as possible.

“The latest version comes with both 32- and 64-bit executables. When the server is established both get installed, but customers are able to choose 32-bit or 64-bit version on the client side. The decision about what is right for each of them will be depend on the client machine operating system and the other applications Accredo needs to ‘play nicely’ with.”

The terms 32-bit and 64-bit refer to how much of a computer’s memory (RAM) can be used by applications. 32-bit applications can only use up to four gigabytes of RAM, whereas 64-bit applications can use all the RAM a computer has available. “If a customer has any queries about 32-bit and 64-bit they should discuss it with their QSP who will guide them as to what is the best option to choose.”
