Accredo is ramping up its presence in the Australian market, opening a head office in Melbourne and appointing Ian Crates as CEO of its Australian business.

Accredo General Manager, Tish Brindle, says Accredo already has a foothold in the Australian market with around 20 Australian customers currently using the software.

“We believe now is the right time to build our Australian presence further. There is a strong demand from companies who have outgrown their legacy accounting system and are looking for software that not only provides robust financials and but also offers a broad business management platform.”

Brindle says it will be business as usual for Accredo’s New Zealand customers. “Our New Zealand customers will continue to receive exactly the same level of support and service from their resellers and Accredo itself.”

By establishing its first dedicated Australian office, Crates says that Accredo is signaling its firm commitment to Melbourne, and wider Australian, market.

“Our aim is to build up a statewide network of channel partners to bring on new customers in Australia, using a model similar to the one that has brought it success in the New Zealand market.”

Some of the 80 or more resellers that represent the software in New Zealand have been with Accredo since the firm began in the 1980s.

“Accredo’s resellers are very loyal to the company, because Accredo is very responsive to their needs and the needs of its customers,” says Crates. “The company has dedicated itself to the small-to-medium enterprise space and has built up a large stable of customers many of whom have been using the software continuously for over 10 years.”

He says the key to its success has been turning first time buyers into long-term customers. “Accredo knows how to service growing businesses and has diversified accordingly, introducing modularized products, entry-level and multi-use systems. We try and make sure we have the right entry point and a suitable upgrade path for customers as they grow.”

Accredo is currently recruiting resellers throughout Victoria.

“We make it as easy as possible for resellers to sign up to Accredo. We don’t set minimum sales targets, and the application costs are minimal. We provide full training and support and once that is completed, resellers are ready to go.”
