Set Email options for a User.

Mail Format

Select a default Mail Format, from:

  • HTML email send format.
  • PLAIN TEXT email send format.

Mail Options

Compose

The Compose interface for single emails, may be edited if Allow User Selection is selected in Company Mail Settings.

  • Accredo Mailer - (default) the Accredo Mail Editor will be used for emails.
  • Outlook (Classic) - Accredo will attempt to compose email using MS Outlook (Classic) directly via COM. If Outlook (new) has been enabled then Outlook (Classic) is not available via COM.
  • Full MAPI - Accredo will attempt to compose email assuming your email client supports Full MAPI. HTML format is available. When creating an email, you can continue working before sending.
  • Simple MAPI - Accredo will attempt to compose email assuming your email client supports simple MAPI. HTML format is not available. When creating an email, you must send the email before continuing working.
  • Microsoft 365 - If selected Accredo will attempt to compose using the Microsoft 365 Outlook Web app in your default browser, this will create a saved draft that can be edited and sent. Requires Allow Microsoft 365 web.
  • Auto Detect - selects MS Outlook (classic) if detected, or detects which level of MAPI is supported by the default MAPI mail client.

Detected Mail Style

If Auto Detect is selected displays the detected Mail Style.

Send Batch

The send method for batch emails, may be edited if Allow User Selection is selected in Company Mail Settings.

  • SMTP - (recommended) requires SMTP Server Address.
  • Outlook (Classic) - Accredo will attempt to send using MS Outlook (Classic) directly via COM, and may trigger Outlook security prompts.
  • Full MAPI - Accredo will attempt to send via Full MAPI. HTML format is available.
  • Simple MAPI - Accredo will attempt to send via simple MAPI. HTML format is not available.
  • Microsoft 365 - If selected Accredo will attempt to send using then Microsoft 365 Graph API. Requires Allow Microsoft 365 web.

Detected Mail Style

If Auto Detect is selected displays the detected Mail Style.

Test Web Login

Enabled if Microsoft 365 is selected. Will discard saved login and prompt for authorisation and test Login after successful authorisation.

SMTP - Company SMTP Settings must have been setup beforehand.

Authentication Model

The Authentication Model for SMTP, may be edited if Allow User Override is selected in Company Mail Settings.

  • Basic, basic authentication. Supporting required, optional or no Username and password.
  • OAuth2, for Office 365.

SMTP User Name

The User name on the SMTP Server.

SMTP Password

 

The User password on the SMTP Server. This is stored as an encrypted password.

Test SMTP Login

Once the User name and password are added, authenticate them. If using Office 365 for authorisation will discard saved login and prompt for authorisation and test Login after successful authorisation.

Show SMTP log

If you have Login errors, log the conversation with the SMTP Server. After testing the Login, the log opens and can be printed to assist with trouble-shooting.

Message Defaults

Request Read Receipt

Request notification when an email message is opened by its recipient.

Override Company Signature

Selected, email uses the User Signature only.

Clear, email uses the User Signature followed by the Company Signature.

Edit Before Send

Default when printing single documents to destination Mail Message.

Selected, (default) message is created but not sent and may be edited prior to sending.

Clear, the email is sent immediately on Run from the Print dialog.

From

Reply To

CC

BCC

  • Email Address, the email address to appear in the From, Reply To, CC and BCC fields.
  • Use With, select to use for SMTP Only mailing or All mailing.
  • Show on Mail Editor, when Selected the email editor will display the field.

SMTP Servers do not retain copies of sent items. To retain copies of sent items, add an internal email address to the BCC field. You can create a separate email address for this purpose.

For multiple email addresses for Reply To, CC and BCC, separate email addresses with a semi-colon ;.

HTML Signature tab (Alt+H)

Body Font

The default font will appear. You can edit the font for the email signature and body text.

Body Font Size

The default font size will appear. You can edit this to change the font size for the email signature and body text.

Enter an email signature to be displayed on HTML emails. See also Email Editor.

Plain Text Signature tab (Alt+X)

Enter an email signature to be displayed on plain text emails.

Note: This tab is not available for Groups or Roles, as Groups and Roles do not have email options.
