SMTP

Authentication Model

Select the Authentication Model for SMTP.

• Basic, basic authentication, using selected Authorisation method.
• OAuth2, for Office 365. Selecting this will set the remaining SMTP settings appropriately.

Allow User Override

Selected, a different Authentication Model may be selected in User - Email tab. e.g. to have an automation user set up to use an app password while other users use OAuth.

Unselected, all Users use the Company Authentication Model.

Server Address

The name or IP address of the SMTP Server used to send email.

Click Replicate From System to copy the system SMTP settings.

Port

The SMTP port used for transmission, defaults to 25.

Authorisation

• None, no Username and password.
• Required, Username and password.
• Optional, Username required, password optional.

If a User name and password are required, these are set per user under Users, Groups and Roles - Email tab.

Transport Security

Select the protocol used to encrypt the connection:

• None,
• SSL, auto-negotiates SSL v2, SSL v3
• TLS 1.0
• TLS 1.1
• TLS 1.2

OAuth2 Provider

Set to Office 365 (SMTP) if Authentication Model is OAuth2.

Connection Timeout

The number of milliseconds to wait before making the connection timeout.

Web

Allow Microsoft 365 web

Selected, enables Microsoft 365 as an option for Compose, Send Batch and Send Mailer.

Unselected, Microsoft 365 is not available.

Mail Options

Trigger Mailer Events for Single Emails

Selected, requires Accredo Mailer for Compose, single emails are sent, the Mailer Before and After Send events for emails will be triggered.

Unselected, other Compose options may be selected, events will not be triggered for single emails.

Trigger Mailer Events for Batch Emails

Select the default for Trigger Mail Events on Batch Emails.

If Selected when Batch Emails are sent, the Mailer Before and After Send events for emails will be triggered for each email.

Note: If emails are consolidated for documents, the Account File and Account Code of first document will be used for the email.

If Unselected when Batch Emails are sent, events will not be triggered.

Compose

Select Compose interface for single emails:

• Accredo Mailer - (default) the Accredo Mail Editor will be used for emails.
• Outlook (Classic) - Accredo will attempt to compose email using MS Outlook (Classic) directly via COM. If Outlook (new) has been enabled then Outlook (Classic) is not available via COM.
• Full MAPI - Accredo will attempt to compose email assuming your email client supports Full MAPI. HTML format is available. When creating an email, you can continue working before sending.
• Simple MAPI - Accredo will attempt to compose email assuming your email client supports simple MAPI. HTML format is not available. When creating an email, you must send the email before continuing working.
• Microsoft 365 - If selected Accredo will attempt to compose using the Microsoft 365 Outlook Web app in your default browser, this will create a saved draft that can be edited and sent. Requires Allow Microsoft 365 web.
• Autodetect - selects MS Outlook (classic) if detected, or detects which level of MAPI is supported by the default MAPI mail client.

Allow User Selection

Selected, a different Compose option may be selected in User - Email tab.

Unselected, all Users use the Company Compose option.

Send Batch

Select send method for batch emails:

• SMTP - (recommended) requires SMTP Server Address.
• Outlook (Classic) - Accredo will attempt to send using MS Outlook (Classic) directly via COM, and may trigger Outlook security prompts.
• Full MAPI - Accredo will attempt to send via Full MAPI. HTML format is available.
• Simple MAPI - Accredo will attempt to send via simple MAPI. HTML format is not available.
• Microsoft 365 - If selected Accredo will attempt to send using then Microsoft 365 Graph API. Requires Allow Microsoft 365 web.
• Autodetect - (default) selects MS Outlook (classic) if detected, or detects which level of MAPI is supported by the default MAPI mail client.

Send Mailer

Batch Emails per min

Number of emails to be sent per minute. If this is blank, all emails will be sent in one go.

Note: Microsoft Exchange Online (Office 365) limits outgoing messages to 30 per minute per organisation. See Exchange Online and SMTP.

Warn if email subject is blank

Selected, the Accredo Mail Editor warn prior to send if a Subject is not entered.

Unselected, the warning does not occur.

Note: If Outlook (new) has been enabled then Outlook (Classic) is not available via COM, and MAPI is not available.

Buttons

Edit (F11)

Enter edit mode.

Sync to Users

Copy Company Mail Settings to Users.

Save (F9)

Save changes.

Cancel (Esc)

Discard changes and close the form.
