A layout is a saved configuration of a report — its selections, filters, sort, column settings, output options, and an optional printed title — stored under your own name so you can re-run it later from the Reports section of the navigator without re-entering anything.
reportlayouts), scoped to your user code. They are personal to you — other users do not see them — but they follow you across devices and browsers whenever you log in with the same user.
Each layout records the underlying report it was created from plus the report-runner state that was active when you saved it. A freshly created layout starts empty and is filled in the next time you open and save it from the runner.
| Layout Name |
The display name shown for this layout in the navigator and in the dashboard shortcut pickers. Must be unique (case-insensitively) among the layouts saved for the same report. Saving with a name that already exists for that report prompts you to overwrite the existing layout. |
| Report Title |
The title printed at the top of the generated report. It does not need to be unique. If you leave it blank when creating a layout, it falls back to the Layout Name so the printed report is never untitled. The override is only stored when it differs from the report's own default title. |
| Selections |
Captured from the runner. The selection (parameter) values entered in the report runner, such as period, date range, and account ranges. |
| Filters |
Captured from the runner. The filter expressions applied to the report's datasets. |
| Sort |
Captured from the runner. The sort order applied to the report's datasets. |
| Columns |
Captured from the runner. Column visibility, ordering, and display settings configured for the report grid. |
| Options |
Captured from the runner. The report options that apply to printed and exported output. |
| Format |
Captured from the runner. The output format last selected for the report (for example PDF, Excel, or CSV). |
Saved layouts appear in the navigator's Reports section, grouped under the same module and subcategory as the report they were created from. Each saved layout is listed by its Layout Name above the Add Layout... entry for that subcategory.
There are two ways to create a layout.
| Layout Name |
Required. The unique-per-report name shown in the navigator and shortcut pickers. Saving a name already used by another layout for the same report prompts to overwrite it. |
| Report Title |
Optional. The title printed on the generated report. Falls back to the Layout Name if left blank. |
The dialog shows where the layout will appear in the navigator (for example Reports › Accounts Receivable › Transaction Reports), based on the report's module and subcategory.
When you open a saved layout, the report runner shows a Layout menu next to the Run Report button. This menu is only available when you are working from a saved layout (not when running an unsaved report directly).
The printed Report Title can also be edited directly on the runner by clicking the title; clearing it reverts to the report's original title. The edited title is stored on the layout the next time you save it.
When a subcategory has at least one saved layout, an edit (pencil) icon appears next to the subcategory name in the navigator. Clicking it opens the Manage Layouts dialog, scoped to that single module and subcategory. Changes are applied when you click Save; other subcategories are left untouched.
