Within Accredo, you can scan bar codes to identify IC Products and FA Assets.
IC Product Bar Codes
A product can have several bar codes. For example, different customers and suppliers may have different bar codes for the one product. You can link a bar code to a Product and specific Customer or Supplier.
You can also have different bar codes for different quantities of the same product. For example, a single product can have one bar code, but a Box of 50 of the product can have a different bar code. You can set up UOMs for different quantities, then link a bar code to a UOM for the Product.
Bar codes must be unique in a Company. When a Product is set to Inactive, its bar codes are retained and cannot be used by other products. If you require duplicate bar codes, use the Product Alternate Code field to store barcodes.
Bar Codes in Documents
When adding document lines, such as IN Invoice Lines, you can enter a product bar code in the Product field, and the linked Product will be inserted.
Bar Codes can be customised into document lines to be displayed.
Bar Code Printing
Bar Codes can be printed on Asset Labels and Product Labels.
Bar Code components can be included on reports and labels, using the Report or Label designer. Accredo supports several bar code types. See Bar Code Components. Alternatively, bar codes can be added as Expression components, using a Bar Code Font.
Note that some bar code formats include calculated check digits that can change in printing.
Bar Code Scanning
You can scan bar codes to replace keyboard entry of barcodes in any field. For example, this can be useful for bringing in stock into AP Shipments, and picking stock for IN Invoices. You can also scan bar codes in IC Stocktaking, see IC Import Count.
Accredo Mobile Apps and Bar Code Scanning
The Accredo Sales App and the Accredo Inventory app allow you to add products to documents by scanning bar codes, using either the device camera, or a connected Bar Code Scanner.
