Backup Company

Accredo > File > Backup Company
or Select Backup from Company List.

Accredo backup uses zip-compatible data compression. To ensure a complete backup make sure all other users are logged out of Accredo.

Company

Click to select a Company.

Alternatively, to backup Accredo system data that is independent of the Company databases, select:

  • System Customisations - backup files in sub-folders, GL Charts, imports, reports, and Scripts folders.
  • System Dictionaries - backup files in the Dictionaries folder.
  • System Images - backup files and sub-folders in the Images folder.
  • System Links - backup files and sub-folders in the Links folder.
  • System Files - backup system files in the root directory.

These options are available at the end of the Company drop-down list.

Company Name

Accredo will display the company or option name. Read-only.

Company Path

Accredo will select the path for the selected option.

Backup Comment

This will be recorded with the backup. For example, this could be used to indicate a process stage. The company Version and System is included by default, for example, [4.0S] is Accredo Saturn Version 4.0, and [5.0M] is Accredo Mercury Version 5.0.

Backup Location

The folder and file name to save the backup to.

If file name is not specified the file name is generated as Company Name and current date.

The default backup / restore folder is specified in System Settings and may be set per Company in Company Maintenance if required.

Files to Include

Type a list of files to backup, separated by semi-colons, including wild cards. To backup all files, type "*.*"

Files to Ignore

Type a list of files to be excluded, separated by semi-colons, including wild cards. Leave this blank to back up all files.

Folders to Ignore

Applies if Include Sub-Folders is Selected.

Type a list of sub-folders to be excluded from the backup, separated by semi-colons. Leave this blank to back up all sub-folders.

Include Sub-Folders

Selected, includes sub-folders of the Company (Company Path) in the backup.

Verify After Backup

Selected, verifies the backup after completion to ensure it was successful.

Force Exclusive

Backup cannot be performed until all users are logged out of the Company, unless a Snapshot backup is being taken (see below).

Selected, initiate a forced exit for all other users on backup. A request for exclusive access will be sent to logged-in Users with a forced exit from non-critical processes after a 5 minute countdown. It may take up to a minute to contact all Users.

Clear, exclusive access is requested with a Locked Retrying dialog displayed if the company is in use.

Snapshot

Only available when running the client directly on the Accredo Server.

Selected, perform a VSS Snapshot backup. Does not require exclusive access, the data is captured in a snapshot and then backed up.

Clear, snapshot is not performed and exclusive access is required.

Note: Snapshot backups can not be cancelled once they are in progress.
