Use the Fields tab to determine which fields will be included in the report, and how they will be shown on the report.

Source |
The data source for the field. Available sources are those selected in the Definition Tab, and Calculated and Summary. Summary source includes fields summarised at the group level selected. Calculated source includes calculations such as Gross Margin and Gross Profit, or you can select the Custom field to build your own calculation and totalling in the expression builder. |

Fields |
Select from fields available for the Source selected. Fields selected will be available to the report. If you select foreign currency fields, you will be prompted to add the Currency Code field. If you select Calculated fields, any fields required for the calculation will also be added; these will default to not being Visible. If you selected to analyse Document or Line on the Definition Tab, the DocumentID or LineID will be added as non-visible, to give a unique field. |

Width |
The width of fixed length string fields is shown. |
||
Display Width |
The width of display on the report for the field. The Display Width is measured in a standard character size (the digit 0). As reports are generally printed in a proportional font, the Display Width is only indicative of the number of characters that will fit. |

Display Label |
The field heading that will display on the report for the field. |

Range |
Select the period range to show figures for. Select from:
When a range of periods is selected in the Analysis Range on the Definition Tab, select from:
When a Crosstab Report is selected on the Definition Tab, you can also select:
Figures can only be set as Crosstab when their crosstab unit is Periods. You can add the same field many times with different ranges applied. Change the Display label to identify each range and field shown on the report. |

Group |
To group the report by a field, enter a number (1-9) in the Group field. The report will be grouped first by the field with Group 1, then 2, and so on. Note: Grouping is not available for Custom Calculated fields. |

Total |
Only available for numeric fields. Selected, the field is totalled at the end of the report. |
||
Blank Zero |
Selected, display blank if the amount is zero. |
||
Visible |
Selected, the field will be printed on the report. Clear, the field will not be shown on the report. |

Expression |
The full text of the MaxBasic expression evaluated when the report is printed. Type the Expression or click You can use previously entered Calculated Custom fields in expressions, see Analysis Expression. |

Total Expression |
Similar to Expression, however only applies to totalled rows. For a simple summary total to be included on the report, select the Total column, and leave this field blank. |

Format |
The format for displaying the field on the printed report. |
||
Align |
The alignment for text displayed within the field. |
