Grid Fields

Code

The unique code for the Stock Group. This cannot be edited once a Stock Group is created. Stock Group 0000 is the default Group code that is used to analyse products when the Stock Group is unspecified.

Stock Group Name

The name that will appear on reports and lookup controls.

Default UOM Code

(UOM Pending or Active)

The Default UOM Code for products in the Stock Group.

Inactive

You cannot post transactions for products associated with inactive Stock Groups. Check for products associated with the Stock Group and re-assign them before making a Stock Group inactive. To do this, filter on StockGroupCode in IC Product. If there are a number of products associated with the Stock Group, you can use a script to re-assign them. Inactive Stock Groups are shown in grey in the grid.

GL Closing Stock

The account number of the Closing Stock account in the trading account section of the GL. When you transfer to the GL, increases in the stock value will be credited to this account (a decrease in stock value would result in a debit).

GL Transfer Out

Used to create journal transactions, transferring the cost of products between Branches and Departments. When you transfer IC Transfer transactions to the GL, account for the Branch and Department associated with the location is debited with the value of the stock dispatched. (Accredo Saturn Only)

GL Transfer In

Used to create journal transactions, transferring the cost of products between Branches and Departments. When you transfer IC Transfer transactions to the GL, account for the Branch and Department associated with the location is credited with the value of the stock received. For example, if you purchase items from a central warehouse, then distribute them to a number of retail outlets, you can transfer the cost of the purchases to the retail outlet. Journal transactions are only created where the transfer in and transfer out accounts are specified for the Stock Group. (Accredo Saturn Only)
