Filter & Sort in Grids

In Grids which can be filtered and sorted (Lists and Transaction tabs for example), Filters and Sorts may be applied and cleared directly from the grid as well as by opening the Filter & Sort dialog.

Filter & Sort from Column Header - Right Click for Context menu

 

Add Field Name to Filter

Adds the field to the grid filter and displays the Filter dialog ready for operator and criteria to be entered.

Option is not available if an Advanced Filter is detected.

 

Clear Field Name from Filter

Removes the filter currently applied to the field.

Option is not available if an Advanced Filter is detected.

Open Filter/Sort
(Ctrl+F2)

Open the Filter & Sort dialog for the grid.

 

Clear All Filters

Removes all filters currently applied to the grid.

Ascending

Sort Ascending

Sort grid by the selected column in ascending order, alphabetically from A-Z for string fields; numerically from the lowest negative to the highest positive figure for number fields; and from oldest to most recent for date fields.

Descending

Sort Descending

Sort grid by the selected column in descending order, alphabetically from Z-A for string fields; numerically from the highest positive to the lowest negative for number fields; and from most recent to oldest for date fields.

 

Clear Sort

Clear sort on the column and revert to default order.

Filter from Grid Value - Right Click for Context menu

 

Add Field Value to Filter

Adds the field and value to the grid filter.

Option is not available if an Advanced Filter is detected.

Note: Filters applied are simple filters only, maximum filter string is 60 characters. String fields containing ", together cannot be parsed as a simple filter. For longer filters or the handle ", combinations in strings edit the Advanced Filter.

 

Clear Field Value from Filter

Removes the value from the filter currently applied to the field. If the value was the only filtered value for the field also removes the filter for the field.

Option is not available if an Advanced Filter is detected.

The glyph in the column header indicates filter and/or sort

 

No glyph, no filter/sort applied.

Filter applied.

Ascending

Ascending sort applied, no filter.

Descending

Descending sort applied, no filter.

FiltSortAsc

Filter and ascending sort applied.

FiltSortDesc

Filter and descending sort applied.
