CB Bank Statement Import Set-up

Setting up the Bank Account for importing

Maintain > Cash Book > Bank Account > Details tab

Select the Statement Definition File for the import format used to import bank statements for the Bank Account. Standard definition files are provided for all major New Zealand banks, or you can create a definition using CB Statement Import Designer.

The standard definition files are stored in Imports\CBImports.

Set a default path for the Statement Import File. Ensure the file can be accessed from an Accredo workstation where the bank reconciliation can be performed, e.g. "Statements\*.csv" specifies CSV files in a Statements folder under the System Path.

Match After Import is Selected by default and recommended, Match All will be triggered automatically after CB Bank Reconciliation statement imports. If Unselected then Matching can be triggered by clicking the Match All button or manually matching.

In Setup > Cash Book > Settings > General tab you can select to Match on Date for Deposits and/or Match on Date for Withdrawals. This determines the behaviour when Match All is triggered. If selected, a match on date and amount only is valid. If clear (default setting) a match on date and amount only is flagged with “Amount?” for review.

Importing a Statement Import file

Either open an existing Statement in CB Bank Reconciliation and Edit, or Insert a new Statement.

Click Import (Alt+I) and select the Statement file you have exported from your online banking, this will add the transactions in the file to the Reconciled grid as unmatched lines and may also update the Statement Date and Closing Balance depending on what is provided in the file.

If Match After Import is selected for the Bank Account, statement lines are automatically matched with unreconciled transactions (see the Match All button below). Any unmatched lines appear dimmed with an Action Unmatched on the Statement grid.
