GST Basis Setting (NZ)

You can complete a New Zealand GST Return Form using Accredo data. GST figures transfer to the GST Return Form as follows, depending on the GST Basis.

Invoice Basis GST

GST for the following modules transfers to the GST Return Form when a taxable transaction is entered:

• AR - GST on sales and income (Outputs).
• AP - GST on purchases and expenses (Inputs).
• CB - Outputs and Inputs.

Payments Basis GST

GST for the following modules transfers to the GST Return Form when receipt or payment is allocated against an invoice or credit:

• AR - GST on sales and income (Outputs).
• AP - GST on purchases and expenses (Inputs).

For CB, GST will transfer to the GST Return Form when a taxable transaction is entered.

Changing Tax Basis

Navigator > Setup > Goods and Services Tax > Change Tax Basis

You can change the tax basis. The Effective Date must be the end of an unposted tax return. The necessary adjustments will be calculated from the return prior to the change.
