Accredo offers a choice of 32-bit and 64-bit clients and OLEDB / ODBC drivers.
Selection of 32-bit or 64-bit will determine how much computer memory (RAM) is used by Accredo. 32-bit applications can use up to four gigabytes of RAM, whereas 64-bit applications can use as much RAM as is available. This is useful for file recoveries on large data sets, but does not otherwise affect the speed of running Accredo.
Note: The Accredo Web Services will only run on the 64-bit client.
The Server Install and Server Update will copy both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of the executable (.exe file) into the Accredo system folder.
For Mercury these are AccredoMercury.exe and AccredoMercury64.exe.
For Saturn these are AccredoSaturn.exe and AccredoSaturn64.exe.
Selection of the 32-bit or 64-bit client will depend on the client machine’s operating system and the other applications Accredo will communicate with.
On 32-bit Windows, select the 32-bit client.
On 64-bit Windows, select either the 32-bit Client or the 64-bit Client. If Accredo will communicate with other 64-bit applications, or other applications need to use the 64-bit OLEDB/ODBC driver, or the Accredo dataset is very large, select the 64-bit client. If Accredo will communicate with other applications such as Microsoft Office that are 32-bit, select the 32-bit client.
The 32-bit client is installed in the Program Files (x86) folder on 64-bit workstations, and the 64-bit client is installed in the Program Files folder.
