AR Sales Area grid

Navigator > Maintain > Accounts Receivable > Sales Areas Grid

Sales Area codes group Customers for analysis, and graph period, year or last year sales. The Sales Area is the same for all invoices raised for a Customer, tied to the Customer record. The net invoice amounts (exclusive of GST and charges) are added to the Sales Area when invoices are posted.

Code

An 8 character Analysis code that must be unique (cannot be edited). Use Alias codes to change Sales Area codes. Sales Area 0000 is the default code used to analyse sales when the Sales Area code is unspecified. A Sales Area code can be selected for each Customer.

Name

Prints on reports and shows in Lookups.

Comment

A 30 character field for reference.

Inactive

You can make Sales Areas inactive. You cannot post transactions for inactive Sales Areas, and they will not appear in lookups unless Inactive records are shown.

We recommend checking for Active Customers associated with a Sales Area and re-assigning them before making a Sales Area inactive. To do this, filter on SalesAreaCode in AR Customer. If a large number of Customers associated with the Sales Area, reassign them using a script.

Grid tab Balances

Period to Date, Year to Date and Last Year balances are shown in the grid for enquiry. They cannot be edited, the balances must be supported by accounting transactions.
